Well, the truth is, I think that it’s beginning to be. Good lord, I would like, just for a little while, for certain things to actually make sense. I wish that some people would stop with their nonsense. Yes, this is driving my wife and I nuts. She gets it from one side and I get it from the other.
The child isn’t being tortured. He’s trying to deal with what has happened. He’s getting counseling for it, as am I. Doing something or saying something stupid about other parties isn’t going to help him. Then again, I don’t see him being helped by the actions of other parties either. It seems the competing agendas here are going to do more harm than good. I see so many treating him as a possession, a prize to be won. When does he get to be a child cared for by all these parties and not simply a pawn to control. One wishes to mould him into someone just like her, or at least, make him both dependent upon her and responsible for her. Outside of the maelstrom, there are people who want to stake their control, not only upon him, but it seems everyone else involved. I knew I had struck devil’s bargain when I asked for assistance. I was assured people only want to help and to know what’s going on. But that knowledge comes with spin and interpretation.
Can’t we all fight just as hard for him and to grow him into a responsible, social, happy adult? Why is this about who is pissing what circle around whom? Sorry kids, my bladder is empty, I went pissing it away because I want him safe, protected, and healing.
Not one of us can right the wrongs of our youth in him. Whether it is a wrong we have previously done or a wrong done unto us. We can’t do it. All we can do is accept what happened for good or for ill as what happened, find our own ways to deal with it, then move on. We have to challenge ourselves to help him grow, not only without our hangups, but without giving him hang-ups of his own.
Why is it that I can only count 3 people who seem actively interested in that goal? That’s so sad. For the sake of a little one, all the “adults” hanging on to this one have to do better.
