Well, the calendar changed again last night. I suppose that means something to a lot of people. I know it means something to companies who create calendars. I ought to know, I used to make them years and years ago. I wish I still had all my notes. This year, I have two at my home desk, one is lighthouses, my favourite things to look at. The other is a Chinese Almanac style calendar. I tend to like it because it has all sorts of information on it, not all of which I can read. Some of it makes a lot of sense, but I have a luxury in speaking some Japanese which makes that a little easier.
The question begs, however, what really is the big deal about the new year? We all look at it as though it’s some mystical transfer point. Truth is, it’s another day and another month. If you want to change, you will whenever you want to; if you don’t, well, you get the picture.
Well, I predicted, privately, to those who have been local that all Hades will break loose once the new year arrives. Looks like my crystal ball was working if the email yesterday is any indication. It should be interesting to see what happens in the next few days with things.
We got a Wii for Christmas from the daughter and the son-in-law. The fun part is going to be getting a game here or there for it. The hard part is there’s no cricket for the Wii! That sucks. I do ok with the ones we have so far. I can’t complain too much about it. I want to play more with this new year and I ended the last on a good note that way.
I think I’m going to be more communicative as time goes along. I still need to do the site re-write. I don’t know what colour scheme I’m going to use, but I am working on finding the vector art I want for it. Still looking at a Retro Communist look.
Cheers
